Anabas signs up to the 10:10 campaign

Anabas has moved to reduce its environmental impact by signing up to the 10:10 carbon pledge.  The initiative asks businesses, organisations and individuals to cut 10% of their carbon emissions in 2010.

10% is widely accepted as the amount needed to kick start the ongoing process leading up to the more far off political targets of 2020 and 2050.  While 10% target can be achieved fairly easily through a reduction in travel and energy use the campaign is also hoping to provoke new thinking and ideas that will carry forward continual reduction beyond 2010
Anabas’ approach in achieving the 10% target is starting with the appointment of 10:10 Champions who will develop the overall strategy and lead the tactical approach in their area of the business.
John Rogerson, Anabas Operations Director said ‘As part of our ISO 14001 accreditation we are always looking for new innovations to drive our environmental performance and the 10:10 campaign is a great way to focus attention and efforts and push beyond the traditional ideas.  The awareness that will be created throughout the year only aids us in achieving employee buy in.’
